MEALY PLUM APHID FACTS

Identification
The Mealy Plum Aphid is an introduced pest species. It is pale green mottled with darker green and the body is covered with white mealy wax. The siphunculi (tubes on the abdomen) are thin and short. The cauda (the pointy projections from the abdomen) are cone-shaped and about twice as long as the siphunculi.

Size
length 2.5mm to 3mm

Food
The Mealy Plum Aphid feeds mainly on various species of Prunus plants, but also found on other species.
