SUPERB PARROT FACTS

Description
The Superb Parrot is an elegant long-tailed parrot. The male has a yellow throat. The female is more plain green

Size
40cm

Habitat
inland forests and woodlands, pastures

Food
seeds, fruit, berries, nectar, flowers and insects.

Breeding
nest in deep hollows or hollow limbs in large trees along watercourses. Lays 3-6 eggs in wood dust at the bottom of the hollow

Range
south-eastern Australia. It is found in the Riverina area of New South Wales and Victoria, and, in winter, in northern New South Wales.

Conservation Status
The conservation status in the 2004 IUCN Red List of Threatened Animals is "vulnerable".
