BIRD FACTS

Description
Body black and white except for a bright yellow patch on the wing. Underparts white with numerous black streaks and fine white streaks on the throat. White stripe above the eye, patch below the eye and behind the ear. Juveniles brown with grey eyes. Body up to 20 cm long.

New Holland Honeyeaters feed on nectar, insects and honeydew. They may breed at different times of year in different parts of Australia.

Habitat
Heaths, coastal banksia woodlands and urban areas.

Food
Omnivore

Range
South-western and south-eastern mainland Australia and Tasmania.
