Description Steinitz' Shrimp Goby is white with five reddish-brown bars. There are pale yellow lines in the white areas between the bars. It has orange dots on the dorsal fins. It usually shares a burrow with a pale brown or brown and white alpheid shrimp.
Size length to 13cm
Habitat sandy areas of outer reef lagoons, seaward reefs, coastal sand slopes and estuaries. Depth range from 2m to 43m, usually around 20m
Food small crustaceans
Range Steinitz' Shrimp Goby is found in tropical waters of the Indo-West Pacific. In Australia it is found on offshore reefs of Western Australia and the Great Barrier Reef.
