Description
The Spotted Quail-thrush is a small bird from eastern Australia. The male is brown above with dark spots on wing and back, the face and throat is black, chest is bluish grey bordered with black below, underside is creamy brown with black spots. It has white stripe above eye and white patch on sides of throat. The female has less prominent spots on back and underside, pale throat with buff colour, blue grey chest with no black markings on face or chest. Juveniles are brown above and pale brown below, with less distinct spotting, and pale brown eyebrow.

Breeding
The nest is a cup shape in the ground lined with leaves and grass, sheltered by rock or long grass. The female lays 2 or 3 eggs.

found in south east Queensland, eastern New South Wales, eastern Victoria, eastern Tasmania
